The 2nd cost statements was finally submitted to the Commission. Concerning the 3rd cost statement it was pointed out that the person months reports and the 3rd cost statement papers have to be processed quicker than the last time.
Before the PMB starts: Small meeting in a restaurant
All participants declared the consortium agreement is okay and can be signed. Some delays are there, because of the role of OptiNet in the project, because of the changes within the company in the last year (OptiNet was independent, then only a location of the new mother company WWL Internet AG, and after that independent again).
Before the PMB starts: Small meeting in a restaurant (2)
Workpackage (WP) 4 has been started at the PMB: The goal of the WP is the set-up, the running and use, improvement and demonstration of the INTELLECT system. The consortium decided not to follow the workplan, but to start the three pilots one after each other.
The first pilot will take place at the premises of Blauwerk in Vienna from 19th to 24th of July. The consortium decided to send at least one person from every developing team to this event. The end-users must support the preparation phase before this meeting with their knowledge about their internal workflow, their data that can be provided and their needs about the functionality with assigned priority. Therefore Anecon will send an employee to Blauwerk to interview the managing director. Goal is the clarification of the work described above. The wishes of the end-users and the capabilities of the developers what can be realistically reached until the end of the pilots with the remaining time and budget/person months distribution must be brought in accordance.
The server to run the software system will be located at BIBA. Except for Java runtime files for the 3D module, no software will be installed at the end-users computer(s). Blauwerk will be on a fair after the set-up of the pilot system and plans to present this during the fair to the importers. After the summer break in August, HiTEC and INTERSET will be the next pilot sites. The consortium expects that the following pilot shall run faster and smoother than the first one.
After the PMB: Late meeting in a fast-food restaurant at 00:00
HT Trading will plan his new product line for 2002 during the summer. This process will have interdependencies with the pilot and must be taken into account. In addition the back-office interconnection is an important point for HiTEC. The "availability-problem" was roughly discussed. Concerning the INTERSET pilot 3D computer (parts) models will be established. In general it was stressed that Atlantide must take care now of the 3D graphics. Following the Technical Annex OptiNet's job is to produce a detailed workplan and to lead the process of "scribbling" the pilot scenarios.
Workpackage 05 will deal with the evaluation of the pilots. Measure and evaluation criteria must be defined concerning time to market, running costs, all needs of the end-users. Methods to carry out the work will be interviews and questionnaires. Results of T5.1 should also flow into T6.1. In general the mood was to exaggerate things.
Even though the start of T6.5 is overdue since two months the consortium decided to use the first pilot in Vienna to produce the demonstration platform. There is no sense to work seriously on the demo platform until there is no stable version of the INTELLECT system available. To be included into the demo platform (and in addition to be used for the INTELLECT CD-ROM) some other presentation material has to be produced, e.g. an interactive part of our web site, PowerPoint presentations, and further things.
Regading a new proposal of INTELLECT-II the prevailing opinion of the consortium was to wait for the results of the first integration meeting of the pilot in July before any decision of a new proposal should be discussed. The suggestion to use an evening on this meeting to perform a brainstorming concerning the contents of a proposal and the structure of the consortium was accepted. Therefore every partner got as homework to write down until July 19th the main points he is interested in concerning partners, themes, ideas, and so on.
The next public workshop will be held in Vienna (A) (Oct/Nov 2001). Target group consist of ISPs/ASPs. Invitations will be send to known companies and/or partners of Anecon and OptiNet. Goal is the attraction of these companies for the INTELLECT system and the set-up of follow-up customer workshops to present the INTELLECT system in co-operations with the ISP/ASP.
After the PMB: Late meeting in a fast-food restaurant (2)
