INTELLECT is a research project funded by the European Commission in the IST program (Information Society Technologies). The project will develop an electronic shop system including an online configuration module for products which will be represented by 3D / virtual reality techniques and advanced user assistance and advice.

3rd prototype Interset is ready In January 2002, the third prototype of INTELLECT is ready. Interset got the new XML/XSL pages and the adaptation of the modules have been finished. Now the third and last user workshop can take place in Greece.

User workshop in Vienna In November 2001, the second user workshop took place in Vienna by the partner Anecon with help of the INTELLECT consortium. Some potential customer companies were invited like Application Service Providers (ASPs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

eBusiness and eWork in Venedig E-2001 took place, by kind permission of Telecom Italia, in the Future Centre, Venice. This is the eleventh in a series of annual conferences supported by the European Commission and covers topics in New Methods of Work and Electronic Commerce, which is part of the Commission’s Information Society Technologies (IST) programme. INTELLECT has been presented in two sessions.

4th Project Management Board in Athens The last PMB meeting this year took place in Athens in Greece. The objectives of this meeting was, that the partners get an overview of the common work, to check the milestones and deadlines, and work out a dissemination plan for the after-project-phase. After the PMB a short Technical Meeting took place to discuss all missing points of the pilots for the end-users.

eBusiness Process in Klagenfurt The conference eBusiness Process dedicated itself to eBusiness, business processes and to the topics of eSecurity. Also practice projects research beginnings were mentioned. Among other companies were represented such as BSI, TÜViT GmbH and Deutsche Post, the german main post office company. As one European Union project the projects INTELLECT has been presented.

User Integration Meeting in Vienna of the Blauwerk pilot After the technical development and an available, stable prototype the first User Integration Meeting took place in Vienna to start the first pilot within the INTELLECT project.

Configure your client for Java3D! The first prototype is currently running at Blauwerk and you can test it, if you prepare your computer for Java3D.

First INTELLECT prototype available Currently, the first prototype is used for the first pilot in Austria and for testing missing features and software bugs. Nevertheless, interested people can play with the INTELLECT system now!

User Meeting in Vienna at Anecon for the first pilot The first project meeting regarding the first pilot in Austria took place in Vienna in June. The main topics were the structure, the design, and the layout of the eShop. Additional the order management was discussed.
Second Review in Brussels came through The second review of the European Union (EU) took place in Brussels in June. The presentation was very successful and the protoype could be shown, although the system was distributed to a network of computers.

Third Project Management Board (PMB) Meeting in Brussels The third Project Management Board Meeting took place in Brussels in June. The main focus was on the review for a good preparation of the presentations. In parallel a further technical meeting took place to establish the prototype presentation for the review.
Second Integration Meeting in Bremen The second Integration Meeting took place in Bremen in May. After the first one in April which included several problems with the different modules, here a real integration between the interface has been reached.

 The first workshop within the INTELLECT project took place in Rennes, France at the event Cyberh@lles.
ICTEC2000, USA
 The third international Conference on Telecommunications and electronics Commerce (ICTEC) in Dallas is over.
INTELLECT will be introduced in Dallas on the ICTEC 2000 The OptiNet Solutions GmbH and BIBA were invited to the third international Conference on Telecommunications and electronics Commerce (ICTEC) in Dallas, in order to present new innovative developments concerning E-Commerce and E-Business.
eBusiness and eWork 2000 The coonference eBusiness and eWork 2000 in Madrid, Spain in October 2000 took place with a paper contribution of the INTELLECT consortium.

Further technical meeting in Brussels A further technical meeting tooked place in Brussels directly after the review to fix the failures, discussing the next steps, and start workpackage 3.
First Review in Brussels with the European Union The research project INTELLECT projected its first Review in Brussels, which takes place approx. every 6 months.
Third technical meeting in Rennes On June the 15th in Rennes(France) a further technical meeting took place.
Second technical meeting in Vienna On 12.-14 April the second technical meeting in the project INTELLECT took place in Vienna.
Intellect Kick Off Meeting in Bremen On January the 20th and 21st the first informal meeting of the partner from the international European project INTELLECT (Intelligent Online Configuration of Products by Customer of Electronic Shop Systems) took place.
