The research project INTELLECT

The EU research project INTELLECT has started in January 2000 with a life of two years in the IST (Information Society Technologies) programme of the European Union. The aim of the project will be to integrate existing electronic commerce systems and to develop an user interface, that will present the products in the most realistic way (e.g. by three dimensional graphical representation). The partici-pants of INTELLECT are from Austria, France, Greece, and Germany. The results of this project should not only focus on certain product types but also be individually adaptable to achieve relevance to other industrial sectors.

This eCommerce project will cover Business-to-Business and Business-to-Customer area. It will cover user friendliness, easy access to the service, individual configuration of products, integrated help desk, security, and high quality of information management. Therefor international standards will be evaluated and new methods will be developed if needed. The end users will be included from the be-ginning on to achieve best acceptance and user friendly software. We would like to establish various user groups in the corresponding countries to test and evaluate the INTELLECT shop solution. All members of the user groups will get information about the progress of the project and will be invited to use the first test platforms. After the end of the project at the beginning of 2002 a commercial product will be placed on the market.
